British techno pioneer Dave Clarke shows up to take us to the finish line.

At the Videotron Mobile stage, Maus and Soundshaper, two DJs who’ve kept the local fires burning for several generations of parties now, join forces to deliver euphoric moments all night long.

WEEKEND 2

House music is the name of the game to kick off our second weekend in the Old Port. Local DJ Cassandria Daiva sets the pulse for this Thursday evening, before handing over the decks to Israeli club superstar Guy Gerber. Upping the funk dosage in the mix are The Martinez Brothers, who touch down to headline the night.

Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, we’re in for a bit of a treat, as Smalltown DJs, Sleepy Tom, and Grandtheft grace the stage.

To kick off the weekend, we explore some of techno’s more fusionist strains. Local DJ Shaydakiss gets us started with the genre’s house-leaning side. French producer Rone is next with a live PA of his French touch updates. Jimmy Edgar and Scuba, two stalwarts of the Detroit and British scenes respectively, showcase the fruits of their collaboration as expats soaking in Berlin’s nightlife.

House music has an eccentric electro-leaning underbelly, which we’re spotlighting to kick off our third weekend. Local DJ Tizi gets the music going at the Sapporo stage, followed by the robo-tiger masked producers in Black Tiger Sex Machine. By the time they wrap up, you’ll be primed for Ed Banger Record’s resident veteran, Mr. Oizo.

The weekend kicks off with a banger of a line-up for Detroit Love! Local DJ Mandiz traverses the space between house, techno, and bass in her opening set. Next up, Canadian expat and Get Physical artist Heidi makes a triumphant return to Montreal. We finish off with the return of the mighty techno pioneer Carl Craig, tagteaming for the very first time in Montreal with Detroit cohort Al Ester.

At the Videotron Mobile stage, more European strains of techno take the cake, with local duo Nymra & Sofisticated setting the course, and Swedish producer La Fleur charting the destination.

We’ve been waiting to find out who wins the Sapporo Igloobeat contest, and on our third Saturday, we’ll see who steps up to take the prize of opening up the Sapporo stage! After that, up-and-coming American DJ Gina Turner touches down in Montreal for the very first time. French DJ Sébastien Léger, however, is no stranger to our town. You know he’ll guarantee us a perfect wrap to the third weekend.

Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, Poirier and Mr. Touré bring an afro-soca party down to the Old Port.

WEEKEND 4

Thursday, February 4

One of our biggest nights of the entire edition: the 50Weapons Finale tour! Modeselektor’s venerated label is closing its doors after 50 releases and celebrating with a ten-city international tour. For the Montreal stop, they’re taking over both stages.

The Sapporo stage gets fired up with a lucky local who’ll set the stage for the Montreal live PA debut of the super-group Siriusmodeselektor, featuring the members of Modeselektor with label-mate Siriusmo. Next up is the corrosively loopy techno of American DJ Truncate. To finish, the label-founding duo returns to the stage for what ought to be a dancefloor-destroying DJ set.

Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, inventive Berlin techno producer Shed spins us off to a solid start, while British DJ Benjamin Damage is ready to wear down the soles of your winter boots till the very end.

Friday, February 5

Just when you think the line-ups can’t get any bigger, the weekend begins. Local producer Magnanime sets the tone for the evening at the Sapporo stage with a live PA. Kompakt Records co-founder Michael Mayer finished off our last edition of Piknic, and now he’s back to ensure that Igloofest also ends on a high note. Finally, globetrotting Italian duo Tale of Us make it a crime to be anywhere else on this legendary Friday night.

Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, the Stereo crew makes the trip down to the Old Port, as Maher Daniel and Ostrich go back-to-back all night long. Technooooo!
