Bon Entendeur

About

Bon Entendeur is a virtuoso of blending sounds, voices, and eras. With each album, the duo crafts a musical set designed as a journey. In their beginnings, Bon Entendeur became known for their mixtapes, featuring the voices of notable personalities. Their debut album, Aller-Retour, released in 2019, pays homage to the seventies’ francophone wave through contemporary sounds. A notable success: four years later, the album is certified platinum, and its flagship track, Le temps est bon, is a diamond-certified single. Their second album, Minuit, achieved gold status within months of its 2021 release, embodying the idea of the transition from day to night and the desire to party through until dawn. This led to two remarkable tours: one across France, gracing prestigious venues like the Olympia and Zenith, and another internationally, with the Transatlantic Tour, exporting their French touch to sold-out audiences. Autumn 2023. Bon Entendeur explores the allure of Latin shores. Their third album, Rivages, captures the essence of summer in winter and brings a fresh wave of sounds. The sun is still high, the afternoon fading. Friends on a boat deck embrace the horizon, feet sandy, skin kissed by salt. Rivages tells a journey across the sea, with stops from the French Riviera to Bossa Nova. This album is a homage to their cherished memories and celebrates the Mediterranean, the birthplace of their friendship. Drawing on the scents of garrigue and maquis, Rivages bathes in the long, golden light of the sun, blending notes of pine and everlasting flowers. The soundtrack builds gently in decibels to a rhythm of hypnotic guitars. Sicilia introduces the island feel. The journey promises festivities, with a tracklist ripened by sunshine. Rivages sings of destinations. In Italian fashion, there’s Rome’s elegance—a journey for dancing bodies and closed eyes. Imagine a film, a couple in love strolling through Rome’s streets to melodies inspired by Vladimir Cosma. Basta Cazzate weaves in electro accents. Originally a soundtrack by Christophe, Bon Entendeur reimagines it with a children’s choir. The journey takes on North African tones. Bodies sway to the seventies-flavored Disco en Égypte. Then, we sail into Spanish language and groove with Petit Bonbon, featuring Rigoberta Bandini. Angelo raises the volume before steering us back to French shores. The duo revisits iconic francophone classics. Fio Maravilha, written in the 60s in homage to the footballer of the same name, was translated and performed by Nicoletta, and now reinvents itself along the waves. Baby c’est vous electrifies Sylvie Vartan’s enchanting refrain, "Comment donner l’amour." The journey has been beautiful, the winds rise with Orages, the anchor is ready to drop, and Rivages has reached its Clair de Lune. Bon Entendeur has composed an album that is more personal than ever, staying true to what they love: the dance of the night, the energy of the sun rooted in their Mediterranean origins, and the diversity of world music. Rivages embodies their signature aesthetic, vintage, disco, and electronic. An album close to their hearts, they look forward to touring it, with star-studded stops at venues like the Olympia on April 4 and 5, 2024.
