DISCOVER THE NORDIK VILLAGE INSTALLATIONS #2

Once again this week, we’re presenting some of the wonderful living spaces found in our fascinating Nordik Village. Because you need to know more about these FANTASTIC installations, but also because we want to get you hype.

So now’s the time to discuss two installations exploring themes of water and ice.

Annnddd heeeerrrrreeee we go!

NORD TIÈDE | Le clan content

Nord Tiède by Clan Content is a clever, funny but also dystopian nod towards climate change and global warming. Through this slanted house, the team sought to display the discomfort caused by global warming and our inability to act urgently. “Nord tiède” (North Lukewarm) refers to temperature but also our lukewarm response to the problem of climate change.A must see for those looking for disorienting sensations!

MAGTOGOEK | Le Comité

This shelter is inspired by a First Nations habitat and its proximity to nature. This construction questions the availability and proximity of materials previously used in our housing and the partial loss of self-sufficiency in contemporary construction. Its sides use water, an essential construction material for traditional igloos. This material is supported by contemporary materials and techniques while remaining inspired by a First Nation heritage. Magtogoek is a modern space, but one dependent on a fundamental building block of life: water.

Please note that you can vote for your favourite installation once you’ve seen them all. A 2500$ prize will be given to the team receiving the most love. See you at the Igloofest site entrance, to discover your favorite!
